Black & white patterns feature our SuperResolution® 20,000 dpi process. No "bridging" of the image is required with glass patterns. Apollo has in-house art and production capabilities that allow the quickest turnaround in the industry. We can make a glass gobo to fit any light in the industry.
|
- Apollo glass gobos are made from high quality 1.1mm thick borosilicate glass.
- Donuts are recommended for use with B&W glass patterns. This allows for a sharper image by blocking out unwanted light.
- Glass gobos are not recommended for use in these fixtures; Altman 360Q, Altman 3.5, and Colortran 5-50.
- Black & white standard and custom gobos are designed to work best in metal pattern holders.

How can I order a gobo from Apollo?
If you would like standard or custom gobos in either glass or stainless steel, click here to see a list of dealers in your area, or call (800)288-4626, or email us at sales@apollodesign.net. We will be happy to put answer any of your questions.
How can I prolong the service life of my glass gobos?
- "B" sized glass should only be used in ETC Source 4, Strand SL, Altman Shakespeare, or other ellipsoidal lighting instruments. These fixtures have an internal dichroic coated reflector, which protects the gobo from extreme heat.
- Handle the gobo by the edges, like a CD. Do not touch the surface of the pattern because the oils from your hands can degrade the pattern. After loading the gobo in the "channel" or in a "sandwich" holder, clean and dry it thoroughly before using.
- Adjust the light to limit the heat on the gobo.
How do I clean my glass gobo?
Dampen a soft cloth with isopropyl alcohol. Gently wipe the surface of the glass. Be careful not to get any liquid along the edges of a multi-colored gobo as it may leak between the glass layers.
How do I know which side of my glass gobo is coated?
When object is held up to the coated side of the glass gobo, there is no space between the object and its reflection. When an object is held up to the uncoated side of the glass gobo, there is a space between the object and its reflection.
What is ColourScenic® and SuperResolution®?
ColourScenic® and SuperResolution® are award-winning patterns by Apollo Design that feature a resolution of up to 20,000 dpi (dots per inch). SuperResolution® is the term we use for black and white patterns that use this process. Photos or images with gray scales look best using the SuperResolution® process. ColourScenic® is the process used for color patterns. Company logos, actual photographs, or images with gradients of color look their very best using the ColourScenic® process. Our catalog has a wide selection of SuperResolution® and ColourScenic® standard patterns available. We can also manufacture custom patterns. Talk to our sales department, they will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
